With 84 days until the apartments, Wolf Ridge at Centennial, open on August 1, 2013, plenty of work continues on the inside of Tower and Lakeview Halls. Contractors are busy painting interior walls, installing apartment ceilings, windows, light fixtures, cabinetry, showers, bathroom tile and flooring. Telecom wiring installation also began this month in Tower and Lakeview Halls while interior accent walls for Lakeview lobbies and lounges were recently painted. University Housing is busy selecting furniture for the lobbies, lounges and other common spaces.
The site is a bee hive of activity! More than 480,000 man-hours have been expended on the Wolf Ridge project thus far. The exterior brick for Tower and Lakeview halls is complete. Permanent power is also nearly complete in each building, as well as roofing, elevator and dry wall installation. Soon work will begin on sidewalks between buildings and along the interior of the property to accompany the pedestrian path between Engineering Building III and Tower Hall. Grounds crews recently planted trees along the new road and the top of the new parking lot. University Housing is securing bike racks and other outdoor furniture for the green areas surrounding the buildings.
More than 320 students have applied to live at Wolf Ridge this fall and will move into Tower and Lakeview halls on August 1. Resident Advisors and a Resident Director have been hired and staff members are involved in interviewing students for the Community Assistant positions who will work the 24-hour desk.
University Housing has learned that Campus Enterprises will name the on-site book store The Pack Shop. The Pack Shop will have a combination of snacks, school supplies and branded Wolfpack gear. Don’t forget that Wolf Ridge will also have a full-service dining facility, On the Oval, on the first floor of Tower Hall.
Also, University Transportation has released information regarding parking permits at Wolf Ridge. Residents will need to purchase an RC (Resident Centennial) permit. For more information, visit the Transportation website.
A few spaces are available in both buildings for students who want to call Wolf Ridge home. For more information about Wolf Ridge apartments, visit our web page.
