Each year thousands of students, both returning and new, descend on campus for the annual move to campus. University Housing works with a multitude of partners from across the university to make this event a seamless process for students and staff.
What to Expect
This year, Move-In Weekend is August 16-18. However, keep in mind that many students move-in early as part of villages or other groups. These students will begin arriving the week prior to Move-In weekend. Expect to see increased traffic volume around campus the week of August 12-16. Students will begin moving into apartments at Wolf Ridge on August 1 and at Wolf Village beginning August 10.
University Housing and University Transportation work in tandem to decrease the impact of this event on traffic and parking. On Friday, August 16, some parking lots may be unavailable due to move-in. Transportation will notify employees in advance and will provide alternative parking suggestions.
Students and Families
You will see lots of students and families across campus. Help welcome these students to campus with a friendly smile or wave. You will probably encounter "lost" parents and students. If you’d like some Housing maps, we'd be happy to provide your team with copies in advance of so you can direct people. Email Jennifer Kendall if you’d like maps to share.
First impressions are everything. Many guests, parents and students may be on campus for the first time during move-in. Consider wearing red or your Pack gear to help foster a visual sense of community across campus.
You can find all the details about Move-In Weekend on our website. Here's to a cool weekend and no rain! Fingers crossed.
