Conferences and Events

University Housing invites you and your group to stay with us this summer. At NC State, we have guest accommodations that will allow you to enjoy the convenience of on-campus living, comfortable facilities (PDF) and personal service. NC State is an excellent place for non-profit and NC State-affiliated groups to host conferences and workshops.

An excellent selection of guest services, activities, summer programs and facilities are available on campus and in the adjacent community. NC State's ideal location in the state capitol and as part of the Research Triangle places it in easy reach of a variety of major research institutes, libraries, educational centers, galleries and governmental agencies. This environment is enhanced by historical and cultural opportunities, ongoing sporting events, entertainment and recreational activities.

Assistant Director for Conference and Guest Services

As a proud graduate of Ball State University and NC State University, Lynne has worked in event management for more than nine years, with six years in Conference Services at NC State. With experience as both a large-scale event planner and a wedding planner, Lynne enjoys the fast-paced atmosphere conferences and events provide. Her favorite event to-date was playing hospitality manager on a chartered plane to the island of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Lynne practices the philosophy of task management and believes the customer is often right, but not always. There is always a satisfying solution that will work for all parties involved. Just like any relationship, compromise and compassion are key components to success. In her spare time, Lynne dabbles in photography and freelance graphic design.

Conference and Guest Services Manager

A Wake County native and graduate of Wake Forest University, Dylan spent his professional career in the world of large-scale event management. Prior to joining NC State in the fall of 2013, Dylan spent nine years with Artsplosure, producing major multi-disciplinary arts festivals in downtown Raleigh and working alongside city and community leaders to develop many of the cultural traditions that make Raleigh a great place to live, work and play. He is committed to ensuring that each individual guest, conference or camp participant realizes that Raleigh truly is one of the greatest cities in the country. When he's not delving into event logistics, he can be found exploring his culinary creativity in the kitchen or playing with his Siberian husky.



Katie Lewis

Summer Conference Coordinator

Pursuing a Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Katie is a Residence Director with University Housing in the Triad (Gold, Syme and Welch halls). She loves her job because, "there is never a dull moment; I thrive on staying busy, proactive and supportive for students. I truly enjoy the staff members I supervise and the residents around the halls." Prior to attending NC State in fall 2013, Katie graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Family and Child Sciences. In her spare time, Katie enjoys long-distance running and exercise, baking and crafting from her long Pinterest list of DIY projects.


Jule Rich

Jule Rich
Summer Conference Coordinator

Jule Rich previously served as a Summer Conference Assistant during the 2013 conference season and is excited to return to the Conference Services team as a Summer Conference Coordinator this year. Jule graduated from NC State in May 2013 with a degree in Economics and is currently enrolled in the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program with a focus on Sports Management. During the academic year, along with being a track and field athlete and an intern at PNC arena, Jule serves as the Chapter Resident Advisor (CRA) to the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Jule enjoys making sure others have the best possible experience in every aspect of life and looks forward to working with our summer camps and conferences.


Byron GreeByron Greenn
Summer Conference Coordinator

Byron Green is a doctoral student currently pursuing a degree in Educational Research and Policy Analysis. He also serves as the Residence Director for North and Watauga halls. Byron is a Wolfpack fan down to his core, having received two previous degrees from NC State. He has worked in customer service for a number of years and is excited to bring his customer service skills to the Conference Services team.  He looks forward to making each of our camps and conferences feel welcome at NC State.

Kenny HertlingKenny Hertling
Summer Administrative Coordinator

Kenny Hertling is a senior, majoring in Political Science with minors in Theater and Middle Eastern Studies. He is active within the campus community. During his time at NC State, Kenny has served as Vice-President of Alpha Psi Omega, as a Community Leader and Resident Advisor (RA) for University Housing, as Station Manager at Wolf TV. He currently also serves on the Student Conduct Board. Kenny also enjoys acting and is a member of University Theater. Having previously served as a Summer Conference Assistant (SCA), Kenny enjoys helping people and ensuring that all aspects of conference operations run smoothly.
